Dear Parents,
We have had a great beginning to the year. It's hard to believe that the first quarter is already a thing of the past. The students seem eager to learn and develop their own independence. Please encourage them to use their student planners on a daily basis to ensure that they are completing homework and studying for tests as needed. Communication between parents and teachers is extremely important. Please remember to check the weekly envelope for corrected papers, newsletters, and any information on school events. Sign the envelope each week so that I know that you have received its contents.
The schedule for the year includes computer lab on Monday, music on Tuesday, guidance on Wednesday, art on Thursday, physical education class on Friday, and enrichment also on Mondays for the first and third quarters only.
We are using the “Everyday Math” program again this year. Parent letters will be sent home for each unit with information included which will help you to assist your child in understanding homework assignments. Many of the students still need to work on memorizing basic math facts. Your assistance in this would be beneficial.
I believe that children should look forward to going to school each day. I hope to provide a classroom environment in which the students are happy and excited to learn. If you need to contact me for any reason, please call the school at 483-2769 and leave a message. I check my voice mail at the end of each school day. I look forward to a great school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Chenoweth
