MONDAY

X--French TODAY.

Y, W, Z— Seed Observations; Students continued working the Microorganism Lab.  Fifteen organisms need to be identified, drawn and labeled.  Study the Characteristics of Living Things…hint, hint.

TUESDAY—Seed observations; MicroOrganism Labs were turned in for all classes today.  We began reading the “Kinds of Protists” section in the text; a web or outline, depending upon what works best for each student, was detailed on the board in two formats.  Students will be working to complete their notes in groups over the next few days.

WEDNESDAYReading, web and notes today in class besides seed observations.

THURSDAY –NECAP testing for 8th grade in our room today; students worked in the library to complete their cell internet hunts, study characteristic of living things and necessities of life.

Parent/Student Notices:

POWER GRADE: Grades are averaged with a different weighting system for each subject area.  In science, classwork is 15%, homework is 15%, labs and projects are 35%, and tests and quizzes are 35%.  AB recorded as a score means the student was absent at the time the assignment was given and/or checked in; this is averaged over.  However, NHI means the child was present at the time the assignment was given and for whatever reason the assignment was not completed and turned in at the time it was due; this averages as a zero.  NA means the grade hasn’t been entered and is averaged over.
