Dear Parents,

It is my pleasure to introduce Samantha Holmgren to you.  Miss Holmgren will be working in our classroom as a student teacher beginning Monday, January 11th and continuing until the spring.  She comes to Auburn Village School from Southern New Hampshire University.  Southern New Hampshire University is committed to educating teachers who are prepared to provide quality education for all students and to sustain meaningful professional growth.” (SNHU, School of Education-Student Teaching Handbook 2009-2010, p. 4)

As a student teacher, Samantha will be working closely with me in developing lessons and working with our students.  The student teaching process lasts for sixteen full weeks of school including five phases that allow time for transition for both student teacher and our students.  At some point later in her assignment, she will take over a majority of teaching responsibilities including classroom instruction, grading, classroom management, and communication to parents.  Throughout the student teaching process, Miss Holmgren’s University Supervisor and I will guide her on the teaching process.

As we prepare to welcome Miss Holmgren next week to our classroom, I am excited about the opportunities our students will have during the school year.  I look forward to a positive and fulfilling learning experience for your children.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Regards,

Mrs. Pinard
