Qoui De Neuf?
What’s
New?
1. Madame Pope now
has her students’ grades available online!
My grades will be updated every Wednesday after school and should be
available to view Wednesday evening!
My grades were last updated on: Wednesday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m.
2. Now that we are up
and running with students’ grades online, I will no longer be hunting students
down for signed quizzes. I will also no
longer be making phone calls to parents because of the ease of looking up the
grades for themselves! However, I
will still be giving out extra points if the quiz is signed and shown to me the
very next French class.

Pourquoi Etudiez-Vous Le Français?
Why
Study French?
Here are a few good
reasons to study the French language:
1. French is spoken by
over 300 million people in over 50 countries on every continent making it and
English the world's only truly global languages!
2.
3. Here are some
famous celebrities that speak French: Robin Williams, Madonna, Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Angelina Jolie and Tommy Lee Jones!
4. French is the
preferred or official language of many international organizations and
businesses.
5. One example of the
importance of French can be seen in a recent listing of international jobs
(8/29/06) distributed by the US State Department: 135 required or preferred
French, 49 Spanish, 6 Arabic, 6 Russian, 2 German, 2 Italian, and 2 Chinese.
6. French as a
foreign language is the second most frequently taught language in the world
after English.
